Summary

Did you know that the model for the public school system was created during the Industrial Revolution, essentially preparing students to be factory workers? Our kids need something drastically different to prepare them to succeed in the 21st century. As homeschoolers, we have that opportunity! But what this means is that we need to be willing to think outside the box. Today I am talking with Isaac Morehouse, founder, and CEO of Praxis, a highly successful apprenticeship program that can't keep up with the demand for its graduates. Isaac was homeschooled and shares how homeschooling was an incredible asset to him (probably not in the ways you think). He is on the front lines and well connected to what companies are looking for in employees, so he speaks to the opportunities we have as homeschoolers to truly prepare our kids for the future. 1:05.3	there. So a few months ago, well, it's actually March 1st, our son Luke started Praxis. And it was interesting. It was sort of an interesting journey getting to, getting to the point where he was ready to consider that. I think timing is everything on that. But I had brought it up a couple of times with him. And finally, he was like, you know, I think we want to check this out. And after checking it out, he was really excited. And it was fun to see him so excited about
1:32.5	something that was going to help him move forward. But so he started. And after he started, I, you know,
1:42.7	I thought, I'm going to check out this Isaac Morehouse guy. I want to
1:45.1	find out a little more about him because, boy, he's got some pretty interesting, innovative ideas.
