So today we're going to talk about the difference between red cabbage and green cabbage as far

0:25.5

as which one is healthier.

0:27.5

So in red cabbage, we have 10 times more vitamin A than in green cabbage, but of course

0:33.0

that vitamin A is a pre-vitamin A, it's beta-carotene, it's not retinol, so it has to be converted

0:38.4

into the active form, but still there's many benefits of beta-carotene.

0:43.5

Also red cabbage has more vitamin C, and just FYI, an adult male needs 90 milligrams

0:52.1

of vitamin C as there are DAs.

0:56.1

1:09.3

source like the farmer's market, 750 milligrams, like 10 times the amount of vitamin C, that's

1:17.9

just from cabbage.

1:18.9

So when you ferment it, you really enhance the amount of vitamin C.

1:34.6

free radical damage.

1:36.6

It's a really powerful antioxidant, and also the green cabbage has a lot of phytonutrients

1:41.4

as well.

1:42.4

Both of them have a compound called Cinegrin, which is a software-based phytonutrient,

1:46.6

which is anti-cancer, and there's also polyphenols and flavonoids in both types of cabbage.

1:53.3

Then they both have dim, which is a concentrated compound in a lot of cruciferous vegetables,

1:59.2

which is really good to help balance estrogen dominance.

2:04.0

But I would say one of the biggest benefits of cabbage, if you look at various conditions,
