editor and publisher of Defense and Foreign Affairs. The Red Med, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean and exotic and we talked about it as the game of ports.

Courts of Dan and Djibouti come to mind immediately.

Now the Red Sea is a battle zone.

The Red Sea basin is in turmoil. The Huthies of North Yemen, at war with Saudi Arabia, at the same time Somalia collapsed under the assault of al-Shaba and the various warlords, Sudan torn apart and now in civil war war war between the former military chieftains and the present military chieftains with

Russia and Iran choosing sides with all players involved Egypt and unstable because of refugees and because of governance questions having to do with the

complicity with Hamas at the Philadelphia route in Sinai. Chad overrun with refugees fleeing Sudan.

I could go on, but we're looking at the Horn of Africa breaking and the Middle East colored by the what's the Gulf going to do with the

huthies who appear to be acting at the direction of or at least in sympathy with the ring of fire that Iran has assembled around Israel.

Hamas is about to go under.

I'm told.

The custody rate is overwhelming, Mohammediif, I'm told, is probably dead.

And the Philadelphia route is closed. So the smuggling and the resupply and the troops moving in and out underground that's gone now.

So what we're looking at is a transformed region with the Red Med at issue.

What's going to stop the huthies? What's going to stop anyone getting a

hold of first-rate drones and first-rate missiles made by the Iranians?

Gregory, I acknowledge that you guided me to the Red Med years ago.

At the time he didn't tell me that there would be a war that damaged global shipping because of the

huthies.

Is this something that we can anticipate will continue for many years or does it have a solution?

Well, John, I apologize. What I meant to do was to warn you that there would be brief periods of peace.
