Tennessee recruiting continues to soar, the number four ranked athlete in the country,

a top 60 overall player and an in-state product, Joel Wyatt, commits to the University of Tennessee.

We are a part of the Lockdown Podcast Network where it is your team every single day. Today's episode, I got a lot to get into. Joel Wyatt has committed to the University of Tennessee. We're going to get into that here in segment number one. scouting the opponent.

You're going to start looking at Tennessee's schedule this year and kind of going in depth and looking at some of the X's and O's, some of the personnel departures and additions to Tennessee's opponents here in the 2025 season. I'm going to start that today and we'll kind of work through that over the course in the next couple weeks and it will be every day I I do this we're going to look at Syracuse here today and then of course taking some of your mailback questions in segment number three I'm your host Eric Kane thank you so much for being here and making this show a part of your morning routine every dayers could not do this show without you and without being said Joel Wyatt has committed to the University of Tennessee. Big time get, right?

And it was never a, well, does he like Tennessee or not? It was a, is Tennessee comfortable in

allowing him to play the position that he wants to play? And he is an athlete, really good

wide receiver, in-state prospect from the web school, but he's transferred to Oakland this year, okay? And a really, really good wide receiver in state prospect from the web school but he's transferred to

Oakland this year okay and a really really good prospect wide receiver defensive back and

you know Tennessee in the recruiting circle Tennessee in the recruiting process kind of saw this guy

at six foot four to 195 pounds and said man what a great frame his athleticism think he can grow into a Leo. We think he can grow into a really good pass rusher and potentially that could still be on the table for him, but Wyatt really wanted to play a skill spot. He wanted to play safety. And Tennessee said, okay, well, we're going to allow you to play safety here. You can come here and play safety and we'll see how it goes. I'm not saying that he won't ever end up at Leo, but that frame does leave a lot to be desired in terms of the potential there. But if he can come in there and ball out on the defense side of the football at the safety position, that's great. He did that at the rivals five-star camp earlier this summer, and that was really, really good to see.

I'll get into more of that here in a moment, pick up a quote from Charles Power from back in the month of June when that happened, or I guess it might have been May.

But nonetheless, Joel Wyatt, six foot four, 196 pounds, the number four ranked athletes in the country, according to the rival's industry rankings,

the number two ranked player in the state of Tennessee, and the number 58th ranked player overall in the class. This is one of those big gets for the University of Tennessee, right? This is one of those big heavy hitters. I said, okay, well, if you like your, if you like your evaluations, if you like the take of some underrated three-star prospects, and that's fine, there's a lot of diamonds out there, right? I mean, again, recruiting services, it's not a pure science. The star rating is not a pure science. But if you like and you want to take some of those lowly ranked recruits, you're going to have to hit on some heavy hitters. This, again, is one of those heavy hitters, as is Braden Rouse, as is T.J. White, as

as some of these other guys, J.B. Shabazz, the top 250 player.

This is one of those.
