Hi, my name is Pete Scuzera.

I want to welcome you today to the emotionally healthy leader podcast, and our title is the first priority of recovering, first priority of leadership.

And this podcast emerges out of what is perhaps my greatest burden that I have for leaders.

And that comes out of many conversations I have with folks and people about the challenges that

they're facing.

And really, they're presenting problems that they tend to ask me about.

Things like limits and leading out of your marriage,

or how do I stop comparing myself to others and envy and, you know, how do I know what to say no to

and set priorities? How do I define success? So the issue comes up a lot where I find myself

returning to this theme of, you know,

what is really the first priority for leadership and actually the first measurement of success.

And because so many of us are trying to squeeze in so many things to do.

And as a result, just rushing.

There isn't the space to do everything that we've got on our to-do list and our goals so

again I'm calling this recovering the first priority of leadership because it's not it's not vision

which is what we tend to say it's you know get a vision that is that is number one or strategy

I want to say the first priority of leadership I'm going to simply call it it's about

being B-E-I-N-G.

It's being in a few different ways.

It's being with Jesus, communion, relationship abiding in him.

It's waiting before the Lord.

It's in silence.
