1:27.6	So talk a little bit about your background. You grew up in San Francisco.
1:30.6	Born and raised right here in the city. Nice family. There's only a few of us.
1:35.6	Well, my dad was a rabbi. My stepfather and my mom and my stepmother. I sort of won the lottery in the sense of if you have to have your parents get divorced.
1:45.6	Yeah. When I was two, they both found great partners. I've always said that I had four incredible parents.
1:52.6	My stepfather was part of the Levi Strauss family. He passed away 11 years ago.
1:57.6	I grew up in a family that had a family foundation. I grew up with a father and stepmother that were also involved in the community.
2:04.6	From an early age, kind of was pushed on that. Levi's obviously was the company founded here in San Francisco.
2:12.6	Makes the genes. A socially active company.
2:16.6	Yeah, it's definitely we have a proud tradition and a proud heritage there. That's something I grew up around.
2:22.6	It was sort of embedded in me and my siblings. I went off. I went to Duke University the day after I graduated.
2:30.6	I found myself and Bill Bradley's campaign headquarters for president in West Orange, New Jersey.
2:36.6	Wow.
2:37.6	And ended up in Iowa as a field organizer for nine months.
2:41.6	So you wanted to go to politics?
2:43.6	I wanted to go work for Bill Bradley instead of going into management consulting or the legal profession.
2:49.6	He came and spoke at Duke when I was a student.
