Let's turn in our Bibles to Romans chapter 6. And at this time, I'd like to welcome our Hillsborough

campus and our McMinnville campus. We're glad you guys are with us this morning. Welcome.

Yes. And happy Father's Day to you guys out there as well. So let's get to it. Romans chapter 6 is our

study today. Good to have you all with us. We got some work to do today.

You guys ready for a little laboring in the word? The Bible says study to show yourselves

approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.

And so we're going to get some work done today. Romans sort of forces you to do that because

Paul does some heavy hitting in the book of Romans.

So far, chapter one, if you recall, of Romans, was Paul saying, if you're an atheist and a

sinful, you know, a person who doesn't care about God and rejects him, is not thankful,

neither giving glory to God, you're lost and you're doomed

and you're going to hell. Well, if you read that chapter, well, I'm glad I'm not one of those people.

That's chapter two for you. Romans chapter two says, and if you think you're better than those guys,

you're not, and you're also doomed and you're going to hell for eternity. And then the second half of

Romans chapter two,

he goes to the cream of the crop, the Pharisees, the religious leaders of the Jewish people who

are trying to keep the law of the Old Testament. And he said, now you guys probably think

you're the good ones and you're not either. You're all doomed, all of sinned, no one is righteous,

not even one person on the planet. And that's the

point of Romans 1 and 2, even into 3. But in chapter 3, and then in 4 and 5, Romans really

turns to where Paul starts saying, but here's the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And it's not just saying the gospel, which is this,
