We'll start with football.

Football season, spring wrap last week, a lot of discussion on the message boards.

One thing that, one interesting quote that has gotten a lot of repetition in airplay over the years

since it was said, I've been saying it for decades, eight wins pretty good around here.

Is that a fair expectation for North Carolina fans to have eight wins on the football field?

Or should those expectations be higher or lower?

You've covered a lot of this over the years.

What's your thought?

It is a great question.

And there's a lot that goes into this when you talk about the football program.

And you have to go back decades.

But for a long time, Carolina was all about basketball,

and the ACC was the best basketball conference in the country, and Tobacco Road, Dean Smith,

all these things. And football was somewhat of a afterthought.

And yes, you had some really good teams with Dooley.

Chrome had some good teams early.

We saw what Mac Brown was able to do in 97 and 98,

or 96, 97.
