I am not a fan of April for a variety of reasons, but we're almost in May, which is a good month. Greg, let's talk about bad decisions, at least in my opinion. And I want you to share yours for sure.

The NCAA tournament is going to expand to now 76.

So it'll be, we'll call it an access play.

At least that's what some people are trying to shape it as.

But the NCAA tournament, once upon a time, at least in my recollection,

in 82, it was 54. And Carolina had a buy and then had to play James Madison if my memory

serves in 82. And then it expands to 64 and it seemed like a perfect spot, Greg. And then they

expanded it to 68. And now they're expanding it to 76.

This quote access play sure sounds like a money play to me, but detail it for us.

Well, I think we have to start off with the fact that, I mean, there are 365 teams at the

division one level, which is way too many.

And we've talked about this a lot when you get into the metrics components of things.

When you're trying to rank teams from one to 365, it is incredibly difficult because there are not that many games.

Most teams only play, you know,

31, 32 games in the regular season.

And when you're trying to compare team A against team triple Z,

it's very difficult.

And that's where the metrics have really thrived. And that's the value. Yes, it's very difficult. And that's where the metrics have really thrived. And that's the value.

Yes, it's people who watch college basketball casually can look at the top 10 teams and say,

okay, well, I think this team is better than that team. But if you turn on your Mac action and you turn on you know the mid

majors and some of the low majors, you have no idea who's who's good or bad or any of the above.

And that's what makes, you know, the selection committee's job so difficult, and it's why metrics have really blossomed,
