We've got a lot of Lakers basketball to talk about right now, don't we?

I know.

Look, it's a trying time right now, Lakers Nation.

The Lakers, they fall to the Sacramento Kings for the second time in a week.

They keep dropping games to their direct Western conference opponents.

That's frustrating.

We're riding the roller coaster, aren't we?

Good game, bad game, Jekyll and Hyde, the Lakers season rolls on. We've got a lot to talk about in terms of what this means, some of the persistent problems that this team has faced, some reasons for optimism as well. I do need to get into the mailbag on today's show. But before we do that, first let's take a quick peek at the standings and see where the Lakers currently sit.

Probably no surprise. Guess what? There they are. They're still in ninth. I know at one point

they did drop the 10th. Right now they're one game up on the Golden State Warriors who are the

Lakers. Next opponent coming up tomorrow. Big game, obviously. And I'm like I'm at, folks, where I feel like I should hesitate to say that.

Because every time there's a big game, what's happened?

The Lakers have fallen flat on their face, haven't they?

Four games since the All-Star break against their direct Western Conference opponents.

I'm talking about the Warriors, talking about the Phoenix Suns, the Sacramento Kings,

all the teams right around the Lakers in the standings, except for the Dallas Mavericks.

All games the Lakers really need to look at as must-wins, and the Lakers have self-destructed in all four of those games.
