Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last Searchlight program, we began looking at a teaching called Really Set Free. This teaching is from

John Chapter 8, where Jesus makes the promise that we can be truly set free from our sin.

The context of this story is important. Jesus is teaching in the temple, and there are two

groups of people that are listening to him. There are some that understand that they are sinners and want to be set free. Then there are two groups of people that are listening to him. There are sunlit understand that

they are sinners and want to be set free. Then there are the religious leaders who don't even

understand that they are in bondage to sin. As we pick up the story today, we are being reminded

of the woman caught in adultery. The religious leaders brought her to Jesus to be put on trial,

but there is more to the story than that. Let's now join Pastor John and see the story behind the

story. And who was being brought there? They thought they were bringing a woman caught in

adultery, but they, the Jews themselves, these leaders, were the adulterous

wife of Jehovah.
