Hello friends welcome back to the morning mindset. I hope you're ready to get your mind

aligned with the truth of God. I don't know if you can hear it in my voice but I'm kind

of excited today because I've been planning this new little mini series we're doing

as we take a break from the Book of Proverbs for quite a long time. I've been pondering

it, I've been praying about it, and I've become more and more convinced that we as believers

in Jesus Christ need a refresher. We need a reminder on the realities that exist behind

the scenes of the world we live in so that we can learn to live according to those realities

and according to the will of our God as King of this universe. I want to kick off this

series today by looking at John chapter 8 verse 32. It's a passage that we're probably

very familiar with. It's a phrase that Jesus himself said in speaking to some Jewish people

who had come to believe in him and he's encouraging them about the path ahead and what

it's going to be like to be a disciple and he says in John 8 verse 32, you will know

the truth and the truth will set you free. That is a very simple, easy to understand statement

on the surface and we could just read it and say, okay, cool, Jesus. Thanks for that.

I look forward to finding out what that truth is and just go about our merry way living

day today as we always have. But friends, there are some powerful realities here in this

statement that Jesus is saying to us. I mean, first off, we need to know what is the truth.

If we're going to know some kind of truth and that truth is going to provide freedom for us,

it's important that we know what that truth is because what we know is reflected in what we believe

and what we believe is reflected in how we live. And so knowing that truth is going to be a powerful

thing. If we're actually going to live in a way that experiences and expresses freedom,
