0:36.1	Lancashire Police are investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Charlene Downs,
0:42.5	who went missing in Blackpool on the 1st of November 2003.
0:47.9	And a year after she went missing, the police finally have a lead.
0:53.8	A strong lead. Two takeaway owners, Ayad Albatiki and
0:59.3	Mohamed Ravishi, are suspected of grooming and abusing young teenagers in the Blackpool area,
1:06.1	and they've also been accused of killing Charlene.
1:13.5	This was the stuff of nightmares,
1:17.8	and the police decided that they needed more evidence.
1:25.3	So they came to the conclusion that they would bug Mohammed Ravesh's home and car.
1:32.5	And soon enough, a police detective who was listening to the audio from those bugs said they had what they wanted.
1:36.0	A confession.
1:38.0	I'm Naomi Channel and this is what happened to Charlene Downs. ... I'm . ... Detective Sergeant Jan Bison was in charge of transcribing the audio that was picked up in
2:32.4	Mohamed Ravesh's home and car.
2:35.3	Over four weeks, there were around 52 audio tapes to go through.
2:41.1	That included conversations between Mohamed Ravishi and the other suspect, Iod Albahtiki.
