hello everyone and welcome back to Reading with Joy, my summer book club. This year we are exploring

wrinkle in time and the great fun of this summer's book club is that each week I've

been inviting a friend along to chat with me about this delightful book which has

been so fun and past summers I did book clubs but I tended to talk through them all

my own but that is not the fun of doing a book club.

The fun of doing a book club is talking with interesting people about interesting books. You know, But before we get into that, tell us a bit about who you are and where you are and what you're up to in life.

Yeah, so my name is Caitlin. I am a THM student at Dallas Theological Seminary. I'm finishing up my degree this year.

I work at a church in Dallas part-time, so I work with women in their 20s and 30s

and just lead Bible studies, and it's kind of like the dream gig. I just get to hang out with

women and talk about the Bible. And so, yeah, I live in Dallas. I just finished writing a little

while ago a book called The Liturgy of Politics that will come out

on September 8th of this year, which is really crazy. I can't believe that that has happened

or that it's coming out. We were talking earlier. I had no plans on writing a book while in

seminary, but really just had this opportunity fall in my lap and loved studying the intersection

between spiritual formation and political engagement.

And so that was like a couple years of just studying that and working on this book.
