things war powers votes. And Brianna, the crux of your item this week focuses on the Thursday

evening war powers vote that wasn't. So talk our listeners through what happened Thursday at around 5.30-ish and what this means

the future of Congress trying to stop the Iran war.

Hey, Max, it's so great to be back.

Yeah, I think we all realized something was going awry around like 5.15 p.m.

And that was just to take us all back there,

it was when Republicans were holding open the vote for, it ended up being nearly an hour

on that bipartisan bill to build a women's history museum in Washington. And around, I think around

5.30 p.m., Gregory Meeks, the sponsor of the concurrent resolution,

to reign in President Trump's Iran war, had left the floor, was in the middle of interviewing

with a brief, brief pollside interview with a reporter, when I saw one of his aides come up to him

and whisper in his ear. I was close enough because I was waiting in the wings to try to

catch, to intercept Meeks as he was going back to the floor to talk to him about what looked

like a sure war power success. I was close enough to hear the words postpone. And then I was,

I was close enough, too, to see Meeks' reaction, which was, he kicked it into gear, right?

He immediately turns away from this interview and starts beelining towards the floor.

So as he was walking, I asked him what was going on, and he said, yeah, it looks like they're going to pull it.

And he said, it's because they think they'll lose the vote.

So that's, he was absolutely right.
