Have you noticed that there seems to be sickness all around us?

Not physical sickness, but spiritual sickness.

What do we do about this sickness? How can our society be made well? These will be some of the

questions that we consider here on Searchlight today as we look at a story in John Chapter 5. This is a story about sick people, and it can

have a great impact on us personally and as a society. With the introduction to our teaching,

here now is Pastor John. Lioness and Charlie Brown were sitting on a park bench, looking rather glum.

And Lioness said to Charlie, sometimes it seems like life has passed me by.

Do you ever feel that way, Charlie?

And Charlie in the next frame looks back at Linus and said, no, life has knocked me down

and keeps walking all over me.

And perhaps what Charlie expressed strikes you as saying yeah that's that's me

that's the way that I feel not so much that life has passed me by but man life has knocked
