Summary

Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks and Rhett Lewis are back with a new episode. To start off, the guys react to Cam Newton's release from the Panthers and predict potential landing spots (2:06). Next, the trio discuss how general managers want to potentially move the draft back and the impact of everything going on in the world has on scouting departments (17:41). Then, the trio answer if they would be comfortable taking Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa in the top 5 of the draft, as it's tough to get a medical evaluation on him (25:38). After that, the guys look at the Panthers trading QB Kyle Allen to the Redskins and what it means for each team, while also analyzing how Panthers head coach Matt Rhule is building the team (29:54). To wrap up the show, the crew discuss if the Bucs are more or less likely to take a QB in the first round after signing Tom Brady and look at a few different draft scenarios, which involve Utah State QB Jordan Love (40:43).

0:16.0

I'm good man. Same old thing, adjusting to I guess work from home life.

0:21.0

But it's cool. Everything is good. We still get in football news so everything is going as

0:26.0

playing, particularly with the draft, not moving. And so we're brought them on the way.

0:30.0

Yeah, it's it's just another day in what has been the most unique two to three weeks of everyone's life.

0:42.0

I'm glad the draft is a moving gives me a solid target here of what to look forward to.

0:47.0

And hopefully we can get some path to the draft content out to the folks here sometime soon.

0:53.0

And it was originally scheduled to begin April 6th on NFL Network. Hopefully sometime around then we can start getting some of our some of our favorite path to the draft segments and comments and and analysis out there really soon.

1:08.0

Looking forward to that. Yeah, a bunch of people on Twitter have been hitting us all up saying when is path to the draft coming back? Well the answer is we don't know.

1:15.0

Yeah, so in the meantime we're trying to trying to serve serve that audience here on the podcast until we can get path to the draft cranked up.

1:23.0

Some things I want to talk about today guys we've got Cam Newton officially released so we can discuss that.

1:28.0

What does that mean when we talk about what it means with all the all the talk out there about these general managers wanting to move the draft back.

1:37.0

Why is that? I've had a chance to talk to a couple of them. And so I can kind of fill you in on what the real concerns are there and buck and red love to get your thoughts on that as well.

1:47.0

Talk about what the panthers are doing not only just releasing Cam Newton but trading another quarterback away signing a quarterback from the XFL and then what the acquisition of Robbie Anderson is going to tell us about the future of where this team is headed and how they're going to try and build that team.

2:02.0

I think is a fascinating conversation that we can have but I want to start buck with with the Cam Newton news.

2:10.0

And I do I do want to let you enjoy and revel in this because I laughed out loud when I saw your tweet this morning because I don't know if it was ESPN or somebody had tweeted out something about Cam Newton how he had lost his last whatever eight starts I believe it is.

2:25.0

And and and and Buck I laughed because you pointed out the fact that well hold on I thought I thought Twitter said that we weren't allowed to hold losses against quarterbacks which is which I literally laugh because it's so true how many times you get beat up and say a kid is a winner you know like this coming out of college as kids a winner you know won a lot of like whoa that's not a quarter back stat but now conveniently it is a quarter back stat so I thought it was kind of funny.

2:50.0

It is it is funny it's always kind of like the moving goal post when it comes to quarterbacks but I mean DJ I think ultimately you kind of have to treat them like starting pictures like the quarterback is ultimately the one that touches the ball on every play he is most responsible for whether a team wins or loses primarily and I mean outside of that I don't know how else you really judge quarterbacks I mean we can judge them on passing yards or pass a rating because everything has to be done in the

3:20.0

context of helping your team win games and even though we've seen quarterbacks when super bowls and big games without being the primary force of the offense I still think they play a critical role because there's so much information and stuff that they dispense at a line of scrimmage and all of that other stuff.

3:39.0

I have some questions on Cam Newton.
