It is a college football playoff ranking reaction edition.

And I bring in Ari Wasserman, my co-host, because we've just seen the ranking show, which by the way, does not

need to last an hour. We don't need to hear how surprised they are that the committee members are

going to actually watch the games because they always actually watched the games. I don't know

why that was such a talking point this time, but I guess you have to talk about something when everything's kind of weird.

But Ari, if you listen to us on Sunday morning,

did we not tell you that BYU is going to get punished for its schedule?

We did.

Yeah, this didn't go exactly the way that I thought it would, but I think we basically nailed the top six and there's a lot to sift through, uh, in between six and 20, I think, but, um, yeah, you know, I, I'm, I'm surprised at how much BYU was punished. I don't know about you. I thought maybe they'd be 11, 10, somewhere in that range.

I thought they'd be lower than 14.

You did?

I thought they'd be 16 or 17.

Yeah.

Yeah, I just, historically, the committee loves good wins, hates bad schedules.

And it's not BYU's fault that the schedule is what it is. They had to do

the best they kid to cobble something together, but they still haven't played anybody good.

And they're going to get punished for that. Yeah. Now, the good news is they can add two games

if they want, and I really hope they do. Well, I mean, I know that this seems to be a pipe dream that's out there, but don't Cincinnati and BYU also have the same open week, you know, at the very least, I think it's an interesting idea. I would love to watch that game. I think everybody would want to watch that game, Andy, but I don't know if beating another group of five power is the quality win that they would need. I think they need to beat a power five team to legitimize themselves. Do you think beating? I don't know. Sincis their number seven ranked team. I think that would mean there's only six teams that the committee respects more. So unless you can get one of those six, Sinci's good. Let's do that. And the thing is, it would also bolster Sinci's case if they can beat BYU.

So I think that would be great.

And so December 5th is the week we're talking about, where I believe they would both be able to do it.
