I'm Stephanie and today we are changing things up a little bit because I watched a documentary on Netflix that I highly recommend.

And the last time I covered a true crime documentary on this podcast, that episode blew up.

So I really think you're going to like this one.

So the documentary is called The Crash.

And basically the log line is a teen slams her car into a building, killing her boyfriend and his friend.

What seems like a tragic accident becomes a murder case in this documentary.

So we are going to break down this

joining me to help me unpack the crash. Courtney, welcome back once again. She's all bad.

Thank you. I'm so happy to be here and talking about this. I watched the crash. I had three people

say, have you seen it? Because, you know, I love my true crime. And this, this one really just has

stuck with me. It's, there's so much. Like usually it's like, okay, they cracked the case. But this one, I have a lot of thoughts and feelings around for so many reasons. But thanks for having me anytime. It was like number one on Netflix. So I was like, you know what? This is very reminiscent of the high school catfish, which is the last true crime one I did. I remember this true crime story happening in

real time. So this actually happened in July 22. The documentary just came out now. Do you

remember this true crime story when it was unfolding in real time? No. And that's what I, and I follow

a lot of true crime. That's why I think it was also so interesting to me. I was like a lot of the

things I see. I'm like, okay, I kind of know how this is going to end. This one, I was shocked at every turn. And it's heartbreaking. It really is on so many levels. But I'm excited to be here with you today and jump into it because I know a lot of people feel that way after watching this. So the people in the story, we have McKenzie, Shirilla.

She's a 17-year-old girl.

She was dating Dom, and they also had Davion, which was their friend.

It seems like he was more of Dom's friend than McKenzie's friend.

And basically, they all went to a party at a friend's house or a sleepover. Yes. They had mushrooms on
