Hey there, listeners. Welcome to Horror Movie Club, the show are two dudes who are not quite nerds but not quite nubes. Choose a horror movie each week to rate and review. I'm Brian. I'm on the phone with Ashvin, and today we are talking about Reanimator from 1985, directed by Stuart Gordon, written by Dennis Paoli and William Norris, based on the 1922 short story, Herbert West Reanimator by

H.P. Lovecraft, starring Jeffrey Combs, Bruce Abbott, Barbara Crampton, and David Gale.

And in this film, a medical student attempts to bring the dead back to life with disastrous

consequences.

If you're new to the show, we will talk about the movie Spoiler Free, just kind of background

info for the first 15 or 20 minutes.

But after that, we're going to play some transition music and then spoil everything, walk

through the plot in detail,

and review the movie.

This was kind of a request by Big Turkey, I think, or at least he mentioned it in a discussion

of the type of movies we should cover more of.

I think there's a push for us to cover more like Schlock and Camp and stuff like that.

Okay, so that's kind of

especially from the 80s sure and that's squirrelly like where this falls I would say so

I would I would definitely call this a campy movie yeah yeah that makes sense does that

make sense to you I think so it's it's so hard because I feel like so many movies we

see from the 80s just because of the nature of the special

effects and the acting then can kind of be written off as campy or slucky, but I know

like other films are a lot more serious.
