Leota has starred in several of the greatest films in the last 30 years, and now he's conquering television as well.

As Lieutenant Matt Wozniac, a corrupt cop who is full of surprises, opposite Jennifer Lopez

in NBC's hit new hour-long drama series Shades of Blue, which premiered in January and

less than a month later was renewed for a second season.

Over the course of our conversation we talk about his rise from soap operas to the movies. His breakout role was as a vengeful husband in Jonathan Demi's

1986 film Something Wild. He also gave a haunting portrayal of Shoeless Joe Jackson

in Phil Alden Robinson's 1989 film Field of Dreams, and he will be remembered forever for his

interpretation of the naive mobster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese landmark 1990 film Goodfellas. We also talk about his Emmy-nominated performance as

Frank Sinatra in the 1998 HBO TV movie The Rat Pack and his

Independent Spirit Award nominated performance as a narcotics detective in the 2002 film NARC,

which was guided to fruition by Leota's own production company.
