I'm your host, Julia Galeith, and my guest today is Keith Frankish.

Keith is a philosopher based in Greece.

He's in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Sheffield.

His specialty is the Philosophy of Mind, and he's also the author and editor of several books on philosophy of mind, specifically on consciousness, including the book

illusionism. So this is probably what Keith is most well known for, being a proponent of a theory

of consciousness that he's dubbed illusionism.

So we're going to be talking about what illusionism is and kind of the argument for it.

And also I'm hoping that Keith can help me kind of get a handle on the landscape of theories of consciousness,

why people disagree with each other, what could possibly settle the

disagreement. I just currently feel, I have for a long time felt very lost in trying to

untangle the debate over consciousness. So that is what we're going to be talking about today.
