Senator Rand Paul grilled Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel over the occurrences of myocarditis in young men who take the COVID-19 vaccine. At a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing, Bancel disclosed a $400 million payment to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from Moderna as part of a deal between the government agency and the drug company for mRNA technology and intellectual property rights. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew got a verbal smackdown from the House Energy and Commerce Committee this morning. During the hearing, Chew promoted Project Texas, TikTok's plan to address U.S. security and privacy concerns. Chew told the committee that employees of Douyin, China's TikTok equivalent, can currently access U.S. user data in China. A newly released letter from 2018 shows that Michael Cohen used his own personal funds to pay $130,000 to Stormy Daniels and that neither the Trump Organization nor Trump's campaign were party to the transaction and did not reimburse Cohen for the payment directly or indirectly.
