Hi everyone, I'm Amid al-Yukper, and this is See Something Say Something.

We're going to kick off our Ramadan series with Olympic fencer and fashion designer Ibthahaj Muhammad.

What was great about fencing for me is that when I put on my fencing mask, I look like everyone

else. And it was this aha moment for me as a kid because I didn't have to

deal with the stairs anymore because when I, my fencing mask went on, you didn't see my hijab,

you didn't see that I was black, you didn't see I was a girl. All you knew was that, you know,

this person could fence. If you see something, you better, you better. and confess.

So if the Haddh's just the first in our spotlight series where we wanted to take some time during Ramadan to think about people who are kind of in the media spotlight and are just super badass at what they do.

I mean, I feel like every Muslim who lives in America or the UK or wherever they're like not in the majority, you get a lot of questions.

You get a lot of focus on you during this time.

Like, how could you possibly do this?

And what better person to talk to than somebody who literally competed at the Olympics and has trained and competed while fast.
