Beloved brothers and sisters, yesterday we heard how Omar ibn Al Khattab,

Radya Allah, who was martyred by Abu Lululu Al Majusi, a man who had stabbed him whilst

he was leading Salatul Fajr. At the time when Omar ibn Al Khattab, Radya Allah,

who was martyred, he was actually the leader of an area if we were to put a pencil mark upon it,

we would count approximately 35 countries of today. This was the man Omar ibn Al Khattab,

Radya Allah wa An. And it was amazing how Omar ibn Al Khattab, Radya Allah,

who had chosen, it is amazing how Omar ibn Al Khattab, Radya Allah,

had chosen a certain group of people and inshallah, we will come to see this in a few moments

in order to select the one who would succeed him. But this evening we will be speaking of

ibn Al Khattab, Radya Allah, who was the son of a fan. A fan was one of the leaders of

Kouraish, he was a great man, well connected in Kouraish and he was a person who was so powerful,

he was related so deeply to those in Kouraish that ibn Al Khattab was related to Muhammad,

O Allah, he was a father and he was related to Abu Sufyan ibn Harb through his father.

So his father's cousin was Abu Sufyan and from that he was from the Amawi people,

from the Umayyad people, this was Uthman ibn Afan. And from his mother's side he was related to

Muhammad, O Allah, because his mother was a cousin of Muhammad, O Allah,

may Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala grant us all goodness and at least a little bit of knowledge of
