| 0:30.0 | His companions made the blessings of Allah be, and upon all of us and all those who have followed him up to the day of Qiyama, may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala make our offspring from amongst them as well. |
| 0:40.8 | Honoured ulama, beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, tonight we commenced with Surah al-Akhqaf, a Surah that is named after the sand hills that were present, or the people of Adh. |
| 0:56.0 | Who'd alaihi salatu wa salam, the area he was in, there were many sand hills known as al-Akhqaf, and those curved sand hills have been used as the name of this particular Surah. |
| 1:11.6 | The message for all of us is that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, the one who placed the sand hills and the hills around us, is able and capable to use the very hills |
| 1:25.6 | to destroy us as well. In the same way he did to Adh, he may do to us as well. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala protect us and safeguard us. |
| 1:35.5 | He makes mention of the Prophet who was sent to Adh, who'd alaihi salatu wa salam, and he says he warned his people who dwelled close to these hills, and he reminded them only to worship Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. |
| 1:53.4 | Surah al-Akhqaf is closely connected to the monotheism and to the abstention from calling out to God's besides Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. |
| 2:05.4 | And if we were to read Surah al-Akhqaf, we would come to understand the importance of abstaining from all forms of shirk, may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala safe guard all of us. |
| 2:17.0 | And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala draws a comparison between Quraysh who were also living in the midst of many hills as we know Makkah is a valley, and surrounding it are many hills and mountains. |
| 2:32.4 | And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala draws the parallel and Allah says to Quraysh that we have granted Adh much more strength and power and wealth than you. |
| 2:46.9 | And had we granted that to you, or Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says we have not even granted that to you and we've destroyed them, so it would be much easier to destroy you. |
| 2:56.8 | May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala protect us. |
| 2:59.5 | As I've mentioned a few days ago, if we take a look at Firaun and Karun and what they had, take a look at the pyramids in Egypt for example. |
| 3:07.5 | Look at how huge the pyramids are and we feel that we still have palaces and so on. |
| 3:13.2 | If Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala destroyed those who built the pyramids, then people who build houses a thousand square meters and two means nothing to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. |
| 3:22.5 | May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala protect us and we must never feel like we are going to be secure in these houses if we are in transgression of the commands of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. |
| 3:34.1 | And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in Suratul Ahtaf also warns of going against the obedience of parents. |
| 3:43.6 | Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala speaks about it because the punishment of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is attractive when a person disobeys his parents with no sharp reason, no Islamic reason. |
| 3:56.5 | And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala speaks about Jannah and Jannah and he speaks about the people of Jannah and he speaks about those who deserve Jannah are those who obey their parents. |
| 4:08.5 | Amazing. |
| 4:09.5 | What a verse in this Surah. |
