You've thought about connection, you have thought about your kid, you've involved them in the conversation, and you are like, this is just a hard pass for me.

This is just going to be a no.

I can handle your reaction.

They need you to be able to handle it.

You have to be the thing that's strong because they are not.

And so when they try to hit at that boundary and you don't cave, it's actually creating additional

safety for them in most instances.

and they will too. So just a little bit of background about Amy. She is a contributing author for today parenting with more than a million readers.

And she has 25 years of experience working with adolescents and families.

She has a master's degree in leadership curriculum and instruction.

But probably her biggest, like, you know, real life situation is she's a mother of five married to her

husband todd and amy we are just thrilled to have you on god here's her so welcome i am so excited to
