Clint Kubiak and Fernando Mendoza, two names that we heard early and often on day one Radio Radio Row at the Moscone Center. We talk about that, plus more on Tuesday's edition of the Locked-on Raiders podcast for February 3rd, 2026. You are Locked-on Raiders' Your daily Los Angeles Raiders podcast. Welcome to a Laughton Raiders podcast, part of the Lockedon Podcast Network, your number one sports podcast network. We're very proud of that. We're also very proud of the fact that this show continues to grow each and every day. That's because of your consistent support and because of the great job that my man Ari does behind the scenes, making sure we look good and sound good each and every day. So we shout him out. We appreciate him without his fine work. Trust and believe we would not have a

YouTube page. And even when we're on the road, when we're doing stuff off site, Ari comes through like the first of the month and we did miss the first of the month. Man, it came up on Sunday so we didn't get to shout out the hood holiday. But Ari still comes through like the first and the 15th. We definitely appreciate him. So you can check him out on Twitter at Ari produces. You could hit me up as well at your boy Q254.

And we've got the Lockdown Raider podcast, Voicemail line for you, 707, 654-4-6-9-3. We will hear from you. Your calls and texts will come up in segment number three as we close out the show. A lot of great feedback. So we'll do that again. 707654-4-4693. Segment number two, you'll actually hear from a couple of the guests that I had on my radio show on Monday. And again, we heard a lot about Clint Kubiak, heard a lot about Fernando Mendoza and the combination of the two. And it's almost like a campaign, right, not to get political, but it was almost like Kubiak Mendoza, 2026, when it comes to the silver and black and guys that we talked about quite a bit. So you'll hear from a couple of great guests, Solomon Wilcox, played in the NFL for a very long time. Does NFL radio now Sirius XM NFL radio, he's fantastic. Had a couple minutes to catch up with him. And of course, I had to ask him about Kubiak and Mendoza. You'll hear his thoughts. And also, Lindsay Rose, our good friend from Sumersports.com,

1:45.0

she's really on the analytical side of things, but she's fantastic. Great breakdowns. You'll also hear her thoughts as well when it comes to Kubiak, Mendoza and kind of, you know, how she's looking at this pairing, potential pairing for the Raiders in 2026. That'll be in segment number two. here in segment number one, just news and notes of the day.

2:00.9

And of course, we'll jump into that after number one, just news and notes of the day.

2:00.9

And, of course, we'll jump into that after we tell you about the title sponsor of the show, which is Fandual. It's the last call for football. If you're a new customer, you bet just $5 and get $200 in bonus bets if you win. So as I mentioned off top, the Raiders are almost the bell of the ball on Radio Row. It was really cool to come in on Monday and got here bright and early and walked in and all of a sudden saw some people seek us out.

2:23.4

So, you know, some folks from Seattle Radio came over to our booth and was like, hey, man, want you to come on and hop on and talk about Clint Kubiak and Fernando Mendoza and the direction that the Raiders are going.

2:34.0

So bright and early, I was on Seattle radio on their morning show talking about Clint Kubiak and then multiple outlets. And of course, we're here in the Bay. So my good friends at 957 the game, Darryl Guru Johnson caught up with him, caught up with my guy, Bonte Hill, who used to be at 957. Everyone's got something to say about Clint Kubiak.

2:52.4

Obviously, he spent a little bit of time with the 49ers organization as well. But for the most part,

2:57.6

like I said, a really good positive, you know, higher. And at least, and it's not a higher yet, right?

3:03.1

It's not official, but at least a real positive from the powers it be. You know, like everyone who's breaking these things down, analyzing it, thinking about how this can go and the direction that the silver and black are going, feel pretty good about this. Now, I would like to say, and I know everyone won't agree with this, and everyone won't say that they were on board with this, but a lot of people, including myself, were on board with the Pete Carroll hire.

3:24.8

Now, remember, it took me a little while to come around on the Pete Carroll hire at first when the name started floating through, you know, and got to my ears. I was like, eh, I don't know, you know, maybe. But then, you know, as started thinking about his track record, his resume, the fact that he's built winners. Okay, you know, at least this is a guy that's been there, done that,

3:42.6

and he can get something going for this team. Obviously, something going never got going, right? Three wins shows that that never happened. So, you know, as much as, you know, we can get excited about this potential hire of Clint Kubiak and what he could potentially do with Fernando Mendoza, if in fact they do draft him in the draft in April, still doesn't mean that it's going to be successful,

4:01.5

right? And the one thing about Pete Carroll as opposed to Clint Kubiak is that at least Pete Carroll had the resume. Pete Carroll's the guy that you could look at and say, okay, he's been there, done that, this is how he's going to do it.

4:11.5

Obviously, he was older when he took the job.

4:14.0

He had been a year removed after being taken off the sidelines there in Seattle and was playing a consultant role. You know, and so he was just trying to get a job and get back on the sidelines. He did. They were never on the same page. We don't have to rehash 2025. We know how it went. It went bad. You don't pick number one overall in the draft if it went good, right? So it was just a bad result all around, but it could end up with a positive outcome with the

4:35.2

Raiders, you know, ended up with a head coach that could potentially be a really good head coach

4:39.9

for years to come and also a quarterback that could be their franchise quarterback that they

4:43.6

haven't had in a very long time. So a lot of really good feedback. I'm enjoying what this week so far, and it's early in the week, what this is brought to the table. Now they had a Super Bowl opening night. I didn't go to that. I was on my ESPN radio show, but I do know many of my colleagues that went out there to try to talk to Clint Kubiak. and they asked him multiple questions about the Raiders and

5:04.4

him potentially taking the job and he said hey I'm laser focused and I'm just paraphrasing laser
