so it's time we covered life north of the wall.

When planning this episode, it soon became obvious that, like our Knights Watch double-header,

we needed to split it into two parts.

And so today we'll focus on the history and culture of the Free Folk,

while the second part will cover the plot leading up to the dramatic action at the wall

as Mansreder's host goes to war with the Knight's Watch.

So today we start with Free Folk History.

Once upon a time, there was no wall separating the north, so what was life like back then?

But thousands of years ago, the others came from the far north during the long night.
