Brand Stark. We're very excited to finally be covering Brand, and we have plenty to say. Today, we're

going to start at the beginning

and take a deep dive into Brand's story throughout the first volume of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Yes, stay tuned to hear how Brand's early ambitions to become a famous knight are shattered

when Jamie Lannister himself a knight kicks off the story's early conflict by pushing

Brand from a Winterfell tower. But from adversity comes opportunity when the mysterious three-eyed

crow appears in Brand's coma dream with the intention of teaching him how to fly. What does the crow

mean by this? And what function will he serve in

Brand's wider story? And what about the snippets of prophecy that are woven into the dream?

We'll be taking a close look at Brand's first taste of green magic.

As Brand's internal world begins to change, so does his external one.

Brand's fall on the subsequent failed assassination of the boy

puts the Stark family at loggerheads with the Lannisters.

Brand has to come to terms with his family splitting apart

as he's thrust into a position of responsibility.

We'll have a lot to say on the political backdrop of Brand's story
