I am doing absolutely fantastic. Thank you. We are recording this on September 19, 2019, which is a Thursday, and we are doing a special emergency broadcast of the Radio Free Mormon Network,

regarding the talk that was given by President Nelson at BYU just two days ago on September 17, 2019, Tuesday at 11 o'clock AM local time at BYU before an absolutely packed auditorium of BYU college students.

1:17.6

This was a remarkable address given by President Nelson. It may even be called historic, because basically here's my takeaway from his talk.

1:28.6

What President Nelson did was he sought to give an explanation regarding the policy of exclusion from 2015 and then its reversal in April of 2019.

1:42.6

The very fact that he had to give this address speaks to me of a great deal of pressure that was building up behind the scenes that he came forward and felt that he had to give an explanation as to how it was that the first policy could be given by revelation,

1:57.6

which he himself stated in January of 2016 that the initial policy was given by revelation to President Nelson and that all of the apostles including himself were privileged to sustain that revelation.

2:09.6

And that they saw the spirit move upon President Monson and they understood too that it was the will of God.

2:15.6

And yet three and a half years later, here's President Nelson, now President of the Church, claiming by revelation at least through his cat's paw, Elder Oaks, who made the announcement that the reversal of the policy was also given by revelation.

2:32.6

So here's the thing, the first policy created a great deal of controversy in the church and even incited mass resignations by members of the church because they simply could not understand how this could possibly be from God that so unChrist-like a policy could have come from Jesus Christ himself.

2:52.6

So three and a half years later, they reversed the policy, they also do it by revelation. I think that they thought this would take care of the problem, but apparently it has not.

3:01.6

Because six months later, which is this past Tuesday now, in September of 2019, President Nelson goes before an audience at BYU.

3:11.6

And by the way, he doesn't just show up unannounced, he tweets out beforehand an invitation because he wants to make sure everybody knows he's going to be speaking at this BYU devotional and that everybody is going to be present or tuning in and listening live on their mobile devices.

3:29.6

So now he has to come forward and give an explanation as to how this could be and him still be a prophet of God.

3:37.6

So this speaks to me of a great deal of pressure building up behind the scenes because I cannot imagine any explanation for why it is the President Nelson would give this talk unless he felt like he had to give the talk. What are your thoughts about that Bill?
