A number of years ago, the first time I was being interviewed by John Delin at Mormon Stories,

he asked me the question of what it was that happened to me that caused me to lose my faith

in Mormonism, or as I liked to put it, that caused me to graduate from Mormonism.

Because it seems that so many people have a moment in time where something happened, they

stumbled upon something, they learned something, that caused them to lose their faith.

Well when John Delin asked me this question several years ago, I didn't have any idea,

as to what it was that caused me to go from being a true believing Mormon, i.e. a TBM, to

becoming Radio 3 Mormon, who I am today, or RFM. I was completely stymied by the question.

Now it was obvious that something had happened to me over the last 40 years since it got baptized

into the LDS church in 1978 at the age of 18, but what that was and how to map it, that

was my difficulty.

Because there was no single incident that caused me to graduate from Mormonism, instead

there were a series of incidents going on on different levels at the same time over

this prolonged period of decades.

So once I did some self-reflection on this issue and it took a lot of self-reflection and

a lot of notes and a lot of diagrams written down on pieces of paper for me to try and figure

out what it was that caused me to come to this point in my life after having been really

a TBM, a very true believing Mormon.

So in August of 2021, I sat down with John Delin in order to tell this story.

We got three plus hours into it, I believe, and we were not done yet.
