broadcasting behind enemy lines tonight's episode important. There are a number of announcements that I want to make tonight.

They actually fall into the four following categories. The first is the financial situation of the podcast. The second has to do with the

direction of the podcast and different projects that I would like to pursue. The

third has to do with an update on the hashtag give thanks program

podcast that we did last Wednesday regarding President

Nelson's call upon members of the church

to post what they're thankful for in social media for the seven days leading up to

Thanksgiving. And finally, a special surprise that I have not announced on this show

but that is ongoing behind the scenes. First off, the finances of the program. Now my mom who was born in

1922, October 11, 1922. She was actually old enough to be my grandmother. I came along somewhat late in life.

I was a great blessing and delight to them, I'm sure.

But because she was born in 1922, she was raised as a teenager during the Great Depression.

She lived in a little town outside of Abilene called Cross Plains, Texas.

She was one of six girls, while they were young their dad left their mother to fend for herself and provide for the family.

They actually lived in a small house.

A shack might be a better word for it with a hard-packed dirt floor.

So this is the situation that my mom grew up in and as a result she was always very very reluctant to talk about the issue of

money. This is something she drilled into my head over and over again was that

you just don't talk about money with people. That's something that's private, it's not something

that should be discussed. And so that's my upbringing and I have to fight against that to talk
