Broadcasting behind enemy lines tonight's episode part two 2, of Radio Free Mormon Defender of the Faith.

30 years ago, back in 1989, I created and taught a class

for the Institute Program at the University of Texas at Austin,

where I was at the time completing my final semester of law school.

Tonight's episode contains the second lecture in that series.

Now one of my personal failings is that I tend to over-preparper for a presentation with the

result that I have a lot more to talk about than I usually have time to talk about it in.

As I listened to these lectures from 30 years ago, I see that I haven't changed that much in this regard.

The second lecture was supposed to cover seven commonly heard

criticisms about the Book of Mormon, but I had done so much research on the subject that

it ended up taking two lectures to cover that material and not one.

As you listen to this lecture, you will hear that I discover this only toward the end of

this lecture, that I'm not going to be able to cover all the material I had planned to cover,

and that I'm going to have to go into lecture three to cover the rest of it.

So lectures two and three will cover commonly heard criticisms

about the Book of Mormon.

There are also a couple of places toward

the end of this lecture where I am using overheads. It was an old device called an overhead

projector where I could make copies of things out of books or manuals that I wanted to show the class,

but instead of copying them onto paper, there was a special machine that I could use to copy them onto clear plastic.
