I practice law every day and the relationship between law enforcement and prosecutors

and sesh-tuous because every prosecutor relies on law enforcement to make their cases.

And so it's kind of hard for you to then go in the family and ask that same prosecutor

to prosecute somebody who's been helping them make cases.

You have a new police misconduct division of the Department of Justice that's dedicated

just to answering complaints and investigating police misconduct.

The independent investigators would be a game changer because if you're a citizen, you

call the feds and the fed's job is actually to respond to you.

It's not like to try and bury your complaint under a rug.

Very happy to welcome to Yang Speaks, South Carolina leader, son and nephew of civil rights icons,

commentator on what's happening right now and really for the last number of decades in American

life where race is concerned.

But also now a newly minted author just wrote a book, My Vanishing Country, which I've read and

enjoyed a great deal and it gives you a sense of the historical arc of many of the things

we're facing as a country today.
