Good afternoon, it's Dr. Negro again with our next episode of psychology unplugged.

As you can tell, we're struggling with congestion and a cold.

So hopefully my voice will last throughout this episode.

But as always, thanks to our long-term, new and continued followers and

supporters of this program.

And I've tried over the last several weeks, I think, to present things more structured,

even though I go off the topic, and sometimes Julie is talking about a totally different topic altogether.

But anyhow, I wanted to talk about what I, I guess, it's not a clinical term,

what I would call, like, hidden depression, high functioning depression, high functioning anxiety.

I think these are some of the people who are suffering the most and are also the ones

none of us really think to check in on.

They show up for appointments.

They function.

They're able to go to work, smile politely, stand in line, just, you know, social niceties.

You know, they send happy birthday text.

They, you know, but I think the problem is on the inside, which is what is not presented to other people in the world, I think is a quiet and structured, I guess, sort of unraveling.

But I don't think it's chaos.

It's not a nervous breakdown.

It's not screaming and shaking it.

I think it's a lot more subtle and structured.

And I would say really invisible.

These patients don't always show up, at least for me in doing diagnostics.
