I believe boundaries have been broken down in that digital format that really make it easier to cross lines, that in an analog setting wouldn't be crossed as readily or as easily.

Yeah, that's exactly right. I think what you guys are getting at is that an excessive use of digital mediums to communicate, when that becomes our primary mode of interaction, it makes us less than human in the way God intended us to be.
