On Friday, August 9th, Karen Read had a hearing for the oral arguments toward the motion to dismiss. The Defense is asking the court to reach out to all 12 jurors to know if they were unanimous on counts 1 and 3. The Prosecution has countered that doing so would be inquiring into the jurors’ deliberative process. The Judge took all arguments under advisement and will make a written ruling. On Thursday, August 8th, Kouri Richins had a hearing on the motion to disqualify the prosecution. The court denied that motion and there will be a preliminary hearing in the last week of August which I will be covering on The Emily D Baker YouTube channel. The Judge in the Alec Baldwin Rust case filed a written motion detailing the dismissal. Kari Morrisey, the prosecutor in the Hannah Gutierrez case, filed a snarky opposition to having a new trial and disagreed with the judge’s decision to dismiss the Alec Baldwin trial. The court has denied the defense’s motions to recuse the prosecutors in the Young Thug case. The defense intends to appeal the decision. The trial resumes on August 12th, and the new judge will ask the jury if they can strike Kenneth Copeland’s testimony. If that can not happen, the judge will declare a mistrial and seek a new jury. Tom Girardi’s trial is now underway. The strategy is to shift the blame for the client’s stolen money to the CFO, Chris Kamon. wild after everything that happened in the Baldwin case and the court had a lot to say in their written

ruling in the Baldwin case. So with all of that, we're going to try to make it quick so let's get into it.

Years ago, I covered the filings where the district attorney's office

had asked the legislature for more money to pay for these prosecutions and

1:30.6

pay the salary of Carrie Morrissey and the DA has stated that Carrie Morrissey is still the attorney handling these cases and she's handling it with her signature level of snark. What's funny about this is the court's scathing ruling in the

Alec Baldwin dismissal came down the same day as Carrie Morrissey's deeply snarky response in the Rust-armorer case.

1:57.5

The court's motion really laid out how they feel the prosecution and law enforcement in the Baldwin case fell far below the standards that they needed to meet for disclosures of evidence, amongst other things, and

2:15.7

Carrie Morrissey in her motion wrote that she thinks the judge misunderstood the whole

2:21.1

thing when it comes to the Baldwin matter.

2:24.1

With regard to the Rust-armorer, the defense is arguing that that case should have a new trial

and or be dismissed, and well those motions are pending that armor Hannah
