Summary

The headlines are saying that Alex Murdaugh settled the Mallory Beach Boat Crash case. I break down the settlement filings to get a complete understanding of what happened with this case. We are still waiting on rulings with regard to 'Courthouse Becky’s' case. Charlie Adelson is requesting a new trial because his attorney, Mr. Rashbaum, who represented him during the trial where he received a guilty verdict, had previously represented his mother, Donna Adelson, during the investigation process of the case. This conflict of interest with an attorney could cause a problem during the appellate process and I will keep an eye on what decision will be made in the future. Tom Girardi is also asking for a new trial on the basis that he was not competent to stand trial during that time. Tanya McAlpin, a person who was hired by the Girardi family to transport him from the living facility to the court, wrote an affidavit explaining that he would say things and behave in ways that showed he was not aware of what was going on. I hope to be there in person on December 6th to see the ruling.
