Does that mean one?

It was the actual physical suffering and the physical beating and torture of Christ.

That was the punishment for the sin of mankind.

Two, if so, the Christ had to endure a certain number of lashes,

a certain level of torture, a certain period of time of physical pain,

an order for God's justice to be met,
