us started? I'd be happy to. Our first one says, when you smell spirits around you,

are they trying to get your attention or are they just passing through? I live across the street

from Washington Square Park in New York City in the bottom unit of a three unit brown stone that

must be at least a hundred years old. We've been here for over five years now and while I wouldn't

say it's haunted, every few weeks I'm awakened by random smells, always between two and four a.m.

in the morning. I've asked my fiance if he smells it too, which she never has. I've asked the

property manager about shared ducts, events and HVAC systems with the above units as well.

And she says they're all separate, therefore smells should not travel. The pre-war walls are

quite thick and the windows are triple-pain to keep noise and smells out. Also, I verified it

couldn't be the neighbors because we were the only two people in the entire brown stone for nearly

eight months during the pandemic. Our bedroom is on the opposite end of the apartment from the

kitchen, so smells wouldn't travel that far. Plus, the last few months I've been sleeping in the

basement room because it's cooler. Thank you to Perry Metaposal Hut Flashes LOL. And the smells

follow me and wake me downstairs as well. This has been happening nearly monthly for the duration

I've lived here. One other notable time was when I was in New Orleans in 2017. I was in town for a

work conference of so awakened on the last night by the very sudden and strong smell of cigarette smoke.

That time, I very much felt the presence of someone standing right next to me as I lay in bed
