Let's go to 2 Peter, the third chapter, 2 Peter 3 and verse 16.

2 Peter 3, 16.

The Spirit of God through Peter is talking about Paul and what the Lord gave through Paul in his writings and the teachings, he said in all his epistles

speaking in them of these things in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are

unlearned and unstable rest as they do also the other scriptures to their own destruction.

The New Living Bible says,

those who are ignorant and unstable

have twisted his letters

to mean something quite different

just as they do with other parts of Scripture.

And this will result in their destruction. The New

Century Version says, people who are ignorant and weak in faith explain these things falsely.

They're explaining them, but what they're explaining is a twisting of the scriptures they're making it say something

it doesn't say. They also falsely explain other scriptures, and they are destroying themselves

by doing this. Dear friends, since you already know about this, be careful. Do not let these

evil people lead you away by the wrong they do.

So he went on to say, grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

So he talked about being removed from your stability, your steadfastness, by listening to people

who because of their ignorance and instability, twist scriptures

and make them say things that they don't say.
