Summary
(00:00-25:18) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the Florida Panthers capturing their first Stanley Cup. They get into Jimmy’s fandom of the Florida Panthers that he just made public last night. Finally, they get into a debate about Jake’s poll on Twitter as to which major sport has the unquestioned greatest player of all time.
(25:18-42:38) – Carmel High School and Carmel Swim Club Head Coach Chris Plumb joins Query & Company for Jake and Jimmy to congratulate him on being named to the Olympic Swim Staff. Plumb shares what his job will be in Paris, if they are given any free time to go experience Paris, explains the impact of Hoosiers being on the Olympic team, and shares some of the cool benefits that he will receive for being on the Olympic Swim Staff.
(42:38-50:49) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy getting into Jake’s travel routine when he’s flying back from races because a caller asked him if he takes soaps and shampoos back home with him. Additionally, they discuss the comment made by Chris Ballard pertaining to Anthony Richardson’s shoulder.
(50:49-1:20:40) – Ryan Carr, Vice President of Player Personnel for the Indiana Pacers, joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook ahead of tomorrow’s NBA Draft to explain how much work goes into preparing for the draft with him, Rick Carlisle, Chad Buchanan, Kevin Pritchard, and their scouts. Additionally, he shares what the team’s mindset is like now seeing the team starting to blend, assesses who he believes has a higher ceiling between Kel’el Ware and Zach Edey, states that the franchise is really high on the future of Bennedict Mathurin and Jarace Walker, and shares what kind of traits they are seeing in incoming draft prospects that are modeled from NBA players.
(1:20: 40-1:39:40) – Following their conversation with Ryan Carr, Jake and Jimmy continue the conversation surrounding the future of Zach Edey and Kel’el Ware in the NBA. They get into a debate as to which player would have a longer career in the NBA and has skills to last longer.
(1:39:40-1:43:15) – Jake and Jimmy close out the second hour of the program by highlighting a couple of events that we have coming up for The Fan!
(1:43:15-2:06:28) – Independent journalist, David Woods, joins Query & Company to highlight the people from the state of Indiana that will be competing in Paris this summer in the Olympics. Woods also shares what he thought of the way the city hosted the swimming trials, assesses how many more Olympics Cole Hocker has left in him, states that Hocker could be the biggest Olympian name in this states history if he is able to win gold in the 1500-meter race, and looks back on some former Olympians as well.
(2:06:28-2:23:20) – Jake and Jimmy come back from break and dive more into what Chris Ballard said about Anthony Richardson’s shoulder heading into training camp. Jake and Jimmy mutually agree that Ballard coming out and saying that he’s a full go sets the fanbase up for panic if he suffers any injuries in training camp.
(2:20:45-2:24:30) – Today’s show ends with JCook Plays of the Day and Eddie sharing a couple bets!
