People are naturally drawn to bad news.

When we see ads and we have a choice if we're going to click on you know 16 people that were saved

or 16 people that just got killed naturally we're going to kick on the 16 people that were killed

it is a natural inclination for us to be drawn to bad news what catches our attention is the

the drunkard who came back to Christ, the marijuana

smoker who's now converted, the person that was strung out on drugs and the prostitute that

was on the streets that has now given their hearts to the Lord. And while those stories

are of themselves powerful, and I'm a product of it myself, myself, I did not grow up in a Christian home.

And I did come into the church, and then I eventually left the church and came back to God.

So I'm not against those kind of experiences.

I believe that they are a blessing and they share rich experiences to others.

That prodigal son that came back is definitely a blessing.

But very seldom we talk about the son that actually stayed home.

So today I want to talk to you a little bit about a son that actually stayed at home.

In a sense.

His name is Timothy.

And the experience of Timothy is one that I think that many youths should try to model.

And he could be summarized in this verse.

From a child, thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make the wise unto salvation.

Timothy from the very early years of his life, through the experiences

of his grandmother, then the experience of his mother, they were both able to teach him
