And today we're going to be reviewing the 2008 horror film Quarantine, directed by John Eric Dowdell and starring Jennifer Carpenter, Jay Hernandez, and Columbus Short. And it's the story of a news crew that gets quarantined in a residential building that comes under attack of a strange virus. This movie is a remake of the Spanish film

REC, and I chose this one just because of the relevancy of the title. Brian, had you seen

this before? I had not seen this, no. I saw REC, but I never saw this. How about you?

Oh, man, yeah, I saw this, like, when it came out, and I remember being a huge fan.

I liked Rec a lot, and, yeah, I'd spoil my review, but I felt Rec was superior to this.

Yeah, pretty, it sounds like it's pretty similar just kind of up until the end.

Like, did you feel like

it was a screen by screen, uh, like a mirror of this? You know, it's been so long since I saw

a wreck. I probably saw a wreck in like 2010, I guess. Yeah. And I just, I feel like I was,

I don't know, I don't remember it that well. I remember thinking it was

really scary and good, but I couldn't remember much about it. And then I was reading on the plot,

and it was like, beat for beat, the same thing. Yeah, yeah, right. And I read some reviews online that

were like, this is nearly a shot for shot remake. Right. Yeah, yeah, That's kind of the feeling I have. I think the ending is supposed to be a little bit different.

Right.

But I think this film kind of put rec on the radar for a lot of people who might not have known about it, even though it came out like a year before this one, right?
