chief operating officer at QNX, which makes operating systems, development tools, and more for

the automotive industry. We break down the results of a fascinating QNX survey of auto industry

software developers from across the globe.

The survey explores their expectations for the software-defined vehicle transition.

The car companies need to start standardizing on a platform that evolves as opposed to constantly

changes.

But first, let's talk about the week.

Molly, what caught your eye this week?

The biggest thing that caught my eye this week was a story from our colleague, Jack Walsworth.

It was a really interesting piece about which electric vehicles have been postponed or canceled.

So he had a long list of automakers, including Accura, Ford, JLR, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota, and VW. And what caught my eye

most in that piece was Stalantis's very long list. So the Maserati MC20, the electric RAM

1500, and a bunch of other vehicles all have been delayed or canceled by that automaker. So it was a

really interesting list. And now I'm just trying to

sort of parse what's going on with EVs because based on the most recent registration data,

which is from August, there's a pull through of taxpayers trying to take advantage of the tax

credit, which expired September 30th. But then you have Jack's list and also this recent announcement

from GM that it's expecting a $1.6 billion hit

to its earnings from lost value from its EV operation. So Hannah, how are you kind of taking all
