Hello and welcome to the Thursday October 25th 2018 edition of Tesla Daily Unofficial

0:12.0

Tessa Podcast. My name is Rob Maower. Today we're talking a little bit more about the Q3 earnings report, specifically the conference call.

0:19.0

Tesla stock on the day after reporting earnings finished up 9.14% to $314.86 this compared to the

0:27.5

NASDAQ with a strong recovery day up 2.95% definitely a little bit disappointing share price movement today I think, especially with the strong macro environment.

0:37.1

Tesla had been as high as $331 per share in the after hours yesterday.

0:41.9

And the stock also opened about $2.50

0:44.8

higher than it ended up closing at even though the NASDAQ increased pretty

0:49.2

steadily throughout the day. It's weird being disappointed with a 9% gain but the results yesterday were so

0:55.5

incredibly phenomenal that even after the increase that we saw in the days leading up to

1:00.1

earnings plus 9% is just not what it feels like Tesla really deserves after

1:06.3

that earnings report. As much as I feel like Tesla should uptrend from here I

1:10.1

still think it's a little bit contingent on the macro environment and tomorrow might be a tougher day

1:15.2

with Google and Amazon both falling pretty significantly after reporting their earnings after

1:20.4

hours today. That's already pulled Tesla down in the after hour

1:23.8

session as well. We'll see what happens. It's disappointing Tesla was actually

1:27.9

around this share price at the beginning of October before we had any of these

1:31.5

incredible results.

1:33.8

At the same time, though, I'm not completely shocked.

1:36.2

I think after this many years of watching Tesla so closely,

1:40.0

I'm just a little bit numb to the nonsense that is determining Tesla's day-to-day share price.

1:47.0

Getting into the earnings call, since I mostly talked about the shareholder letter yesterday and the

1:51.1

financial results, I won't go into every single question like I've done at times in the past. I think this earnings call was relatively mild, relatively boring for a Tesla earnings call, which I am more than happy with after what's been going on with Tesla for the last few months.
