I spend most of the rest of the week asking myself questions, and I don't know the answers to most of them. So it's kind of a respite, if I can use that word, and I think I can, to get other

people's questions and see what's on your mind. And mainly it kind of shows me just how far off

my own mind is, because I don't really think of a lot of these questions. So they say it's

important to keep your mind active.

I don't know that watching miniseries really is what they're talking about.

I think they're talking about like doing crosswork puzzles and things like that.

But these questions do keep what's left of my mind active.

And we do have another round of thoughtful questions. I guess we'll start at it. You ready? I think so. I hope so too.

Here we go. We'll start with Teresa, who writes about some of the news that's going on. She writes,

what is the usual process for a missing person?

That's a tough one, Teresa.

I mean, you know, and I guess in not to harken back to miniseries and movies and television, I mean, there's this kind of mythical 24-hour period.

I think what we have to keep in mind is police get a lot of calls.

And police get asked to do a lot of things from get, you know, go find pets, get cats out of trees.

So I don't want to say you become jaundice or cynical, but this little 24-hour kind of,

you know, I call it mythical because depending on the circumstances, they won't wait 24 hours.

But if you hear that there's a 24-hour waiting period, it's only because, you know, we all know certain people that if they're not where they're supposed to be at a certain time, we begin to worry because they have a reputation for punctuality and reliability.

We also know people that if they don't show up, we don't give it another thought just because they're more lackadaisical or more carefree.

So with missing persons, a lot of times you'll hear we need 24 hours.

You know, wait 24 hours.
