I'm thankful for the eight years I had in Congress, but the job that I most would like to be remembered for or by, to the extent I'll be remembered at all,

was being a prosecutor, both in federal court and in state court.

We call them solicitors in South Carolina.

Everybody else calls it district attorney.

And, of course, we have an attorney general that is elected by the people.

That is the way most states do it.

A handful of states do it differently.

Of course, our federal system, the president picks the attorney general, and then he or she has Senate confirmed.

But in South Carolina, the people do it.

So our guest today is a solicitor who is currently

running for Attorney General because our incumbent Attorney General, Alan Wilson, is running for
