Hey, this is Trey.

Thank you for joining us for a Thursday edition of our podcast, which is

your day, actually, because you asked the questions. And I either dodged them or give really

lengthy answers to them when I'm told by my family and friends that just a couple of sentences

could suffice. But, you know, lawyers, if you're paid by the hour, you just have a tendency to

take longer to do something. So if I were paid a flat fee, I would probably be pithier. Actually,

I think my fee is the same, no matter how long my answer is for the podcast. That's a whole different conversation about whether or not anything times zero

really can be zero. I'm in the minority there. I don't believe that's correct, but everybody else tells me I'm wrong.

So let's don't digress into math because I don't know anything about math. How about we see

what people want to talk about? Let's do it, Trey. We'll start with Missy from Virginia,

who writes, how long do you think the shutdown is going to last? And what happens

once it's back running? Well, Missy, let me first say, I had a co-worker who is still a friend

by the name of Missy. So I like that name and I love the Commonwealth of Virginia. In terms of the shutdown,

I hear different things. I was actually in D.C. Monday and heard from a source that is reputable.

I do have some reputable friend. And this source actually would be in the know

that things were trending in the right direction. That was Monday. And then Tuesday, I heard

that things were at a standstill and they used the word Thanksgiving, which I just find I can't fathom that. But I actually can't

fathom the shutdown, period, because it's just so ridiculous. Much as others have been

ridiculous in the past, but this one in particular, I think might win a special prize for

ridiculousness, if that's a word, because, you know, in the past, Republicans wanted to do things like get a guy named Obama to sign the repeal of something called Obamacare.

And that was never going to happen.

So the public reacted, the way you would think the public would react, which is blaming the Republicans. That's not this case.
